A Tall Strong Black Coffee and Other Differences

All coffee is all espresso based down here, so I've started drinking the closest thing to my usual cup of joe, the tall black, which is commonly known in most parts of the world as an Americano, a shot of expresso diluted with hot water. This morning, I learned that if you slip a 'strong' in your order, they will go heavy on the expresso. I'm excited to test this new bit of intel out.

This is the only other country that I know of that calls soccer, soccer. However, they do have a good notion that the World Cup is going on, whereas I doubt that most Yanks have much of a clue that there is anything worth watching in Germany for the next couple of weeks. And considering the American 3-0 loss a few hours ago, there isn't too much for to cheer for. Amazingly, the Aussi socceroos (yes, they really do call them that down here) won against Japan yesterday, so at least they can loose with honor to Brazil later this week.

Here are some photos for you guys. This is Bondi Beach, which is one of the big places you are supposed to visit.

And here is your token Opera House pic.

The search for a flat is winding down, so I should have full time internet action soon, which means more entertaining postings for you to muse upon.
