Quick, lets talk about the VP debates. What did you think?

You know what I thought? Not so exciting.

I don’t have the same emotional investment in these guys, especially when they are hardly talking about themselves. Bush this, Kerry that, blah, blah, blah. It goes to show that the VP has only as much power as the President says he does.

It doesn’t help that both Cheney and Edwards are excellent debaters, at least in the form shown last night. Take last week: I was expecting to see nattering nabobs spout buffoonery. They sucked me into their debate in which I was pleasantly surprised to see my guy looking more presidential than the incumbent. With last night’s debate, I had found those clichéd nabobs of negativity. I felt rhetorical air blow by me for 90 minutes.

This debate that should not matter at all, you know. It has never mattered before, but this year, I’m not discounting anything.
