Yay, new shoes!

I finally got a new pair of running shoes. I've been meaning to get some new ones ever since my last pair ran a flat a while ago. Now, finally, I am all set to get back running the loop at the park--that's Prospect Park, for you non-Brooklyn readers--something I haven't done seriously since I ran the New York Marathon. It's remains a great run, especially with the big hill at the end. It's a killer, even more so now that I'm back to base-level fitness.

I've gotten back on the fitness wagon a little too late to run the marathon this year. I think that I may volunteer that day. That'll do me just fine. Maybe in a few months I'll be ready to run anther 26 miles somewhere more exotic. I hear there is a race up and down Pikes Peak...

Anyhow, I really like autumn. It is the best season of the year. Everything is in a state of transition, and there is an urgency to get everything done before winter hits. Such as my need to get back into running. It's much harder to run once it starts snowing.
